A severe humanitarian crisis continues to affect thousands of families in Afghanistan, where many daily wage workers are struggling to find employment and basic food supplies.
In the city of Chaghcharan, hundreds of men reportedly gather every morning in search of work, hoping to earn enough money to feed their families for the day. However, many return home empty-handed due to the lack of available jobs.
Among them is 45-year-old labourer Juma Khan, who said he managed to find work for only three days during the past six weeks. According to him, the small earnings were not enough to support his family, forcing him to borrow money from neighbours just to buy flour.
Khan revealed that his children had gone to sleep hungry for several nights, while his wife and family remained in deep distress over their worsening situation.
The incident highlights the growing economic hardship faced by ordinary Afghan citizens amid ongoing instability, unemployment, and poverty across the country.
Humanitarian organisations have repeatedly warned that millions of Afghans remain at risk of hunger and malnutrition, especially in rural and conflict-affected regions.
DPCI International Desk reports that global aid agencies are continuing to call for urgent humanitarian support to prevent further suffering among vulnerable families in Afghanistan.
