Mapusa: Three accused in the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub fire case surrendered before the Additional District and Sessions Court in Mapusa on Monday, following the Supreme Court’s direction after it declined to interfere with the cancellation of their bail.
The accused are nightclub owners Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, along with their business partner Ajay Gupta. Their surrender came after the Supreme Court, on August 31, directed them to surrender within two weeks and asked the trial court to expedite the proceedings.
The nightclub fire at Arpora, North Goa, on December 6, 2025, claimed 25 lives and injured several others.
Their lawyer said the court also considered a request for certain medical accommodations. Permission was granted for required medicines and a mattress, while a decision on specialised footwear remains pending.
