Barcelona / Spain: FC Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez is set to miss football action after suffering a serious foot injury during Barcelona’s 3-1 La Liga victory over Real Betis on Sunday.
The 23-year-old midfielder fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during the match. Barcelona officials confirmed that Lopez has successfully undergone surgery, although the club has not yet announced an official recovery timeline.
Following the operation, Lopez shared an emotional message on Instagram, stating that the surgery went well and that he hopes to return “stronger both physically and mentally.” He also described the injury as another major challenge in his football career and expressed determination to recover soon.
