New Delhi: In the wake of the escalating conflict in West Asia, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to citizens to reduce fuel consumption and use petroleum products responsibly in order to help the nation manage economic challenges arising from the global situation.

Addressing the nation, the Prime Minister urged people to use petrol and diesel judiciously, stating that reduced fuel consumption would help lower national expenditure and ease pressure on the economy during the ongoing international crisis.

Modi also appealed to citizens to avoid purchasing gold for the next one year as part of efforts to protect the country’s foreign exchange reserves under the present circumstances.

Highlighting the importance of energy conservation, the Prime Minister further encouraged companies and institutions to promote work-from-home arrangements, online meetings, and virtual conferences wherever possible to reduce fuel usage linked to travel and transportation.

The appeal comes at a time when tensions in West Asia continue to intensify, raising concerns over global oil supply disruptions and the possible economic impact on fuel-importing nations like India.
