New Delhi, July 16: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has alleged that a Latur-based coaching centre owner paid ₹5 lakh to obtain chemistry questions for the NEET (UG) 2026 examination from a member of the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) paper-setting panel.
According to the agency, Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, who was arrested in connection with the alleged NEET paper leak case, paid the money to P.V. Kulkarni, an NTA-appointed paper setter, to procure confidential chemistry questions ahead of the examination.
The CBI informed a special court that it recovered Motegaonkar’s mobile phone, which contained 36 images, including five duplicate images, featuring 132 handwritten chemistry questions. During its investigation, the agency found that 111 of these questions allegedly matched the master question sets prepared by the NTA for NEET (UG) 2026.
The agency further alleged that Motegaonkar’s son attended coaching classes conducted by Kulkarni, where the confidential questions were reportedly shared.
- The investigation into the alleged NEET paper leak is ongoing, and the CBI is continuing to examine the involvement of other individuals linked to the case.
