Ayodhya, July 7: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has stated that all valuable items donated by devotees to the Ram Temple are safe and properly accounted for, amid allegations of embezzlement of temple donations.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Trust Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri said the Trust currently possesses more than 30 kilograms of gold-like items and 1,518 kilograms of silver-like items, along with several other valuables offered by devotees.
He said a total of 2,926 donated valuable articles are securely stored, and detailed records have been maintained for each item.
To address concerns raised on social media, the Trust also displayed several donated items before the media, including a gold Ramcharitmanas, a diamond-studded necklace, a silver Charan Paduka, and a silver Kakbhushundi artefact. The Trust clarified that these items, which some social media posts had claimed were missing or unaccounted for, remain safely in its possession.
The clarification comes amid an ongoing controversy over allegations of irregularities in the management of temple donations. The Trust has reiterated that all donated valuables are secure and that proper documentation has been maintained.
