New Delhi, July 7: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed the restoration of the X account of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) after the Union government informed the court that it no longer objected to unblocking the account.

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma issued the order while hearing a petition filed by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who had challenged the government’s decision to withhold the party’s X account in India.

During the hearing, the Union government informed the court that it had withdrawn its objection to restoring access to the account. Based on the government’s submission, the High Court directed that the account be reinstated.

The petition had sought judicial intervention against the blocking of the social media account, arguing that the restriction was unjustified. With the Centre withdrawing its objection, the court ordered the restoration of the account, bringing the matter to a close.
