Karnataka CM Seeks MPs’ Support for 13 Key Development Proposals

Bengaluru, July 28, 2026: Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has urged Members of Parliament (MPs) from the State to work together beyond political differences to secure Central Government approval for 13 major development proposals aimed at accelerating Karnataka’s growth.

The proposals include the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) for Bengaluru, the reopening of HAL Airport for commercial flight operations, and the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project, among other key infrastructure initiatives.

Addressing a dinner meeting with Karnataka MPs in New Delhi on Monday, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for collective efforts to advance the State’s development agenda. The meeting marked the first such interaction convened by Mr. Shivakumar after assuming office as Chief Minister.

The meeting was attended by several senior leaders, including Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi, V. Somanna, and Shobha Karandlaje, along with other Members of Parliament from Karnataka.

The Chief Minister appealed to all MPs to extend their support in obtaining the necessary approvals from the Central Government, stressing that the proposed projects are crucial for improving infrastructure, connectivity, and economic development across the State.
