The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has summoned Meta’s Global Head of Public Policy after the company temporarily removed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Facebook post on strict action against examination paper leaks.
According to official sources, the post, which was published on July 23 during the student protests organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), was addressed to the youth and outlined the government’s commitment to taking stringent measures against paper leaks.
Meta stated that the content was removed due to an error and has since been restored on the platform. A company spokesperson confirmed that the removal was unintentional.
The IT Ministry has sought an explanation from Meta regarding the incident. Further details are awaited.
